Blackberry Ricotta & Basil Pizza Directions
- Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.
- Line a pizza or sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Lightly brush the parchment paper with olive oil.
- Using your hands, stretch the pizza dough out into a thin sheet on the pan. Work from the center to the outside crust, leaving a bit of an edge around the perimeter of the sheet.
- Once the dough is stretched, drizzle the top with a bit more olive oil.
- Place the pan into the preheated 500-degree oven on the middle rack to par-cook the dough before topping.
- In about 4-6 minutes, the pizza dough will begin to cook slightly and set. Remove the crust from the oven before it begins to brown.
- Mix the ricotta cheese with the milk or cream until well blended.
- Spread the ricotta onto the par-cooked pizza crust.
- Top the pizza with slices of the fontina cheese.
- Top the pizza with blackberries and grated Parmigiano or pecorino cheese.
- Place the assembled pizza back in the hot oven directly on the middle rack.
- Bake the pizza for an additional 6-8 minutes to allow the crust and the cheese to brown. Rotate the pizza halfway through the cooking time.
- Remove the pizza from the oven when it is cooked to your liking.
- Drizzle the top of the pizza with the fresh basil, honey, and a sprinkle of salt.
- Allow the pizza to set for a minute or two before cutting.
- Enjoy!
Notes
You can top the pizza with thinly sliced prosciutto or speck for a little added saltiness. Delicious!
